The flowers of Uvaria grandiflora are the largest in the genus (> 5cm; Turner, 2012).
Interesting Facts:
The Large Flower Uvaria has been recorded locally in Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Jurong, Bukit Panjang, and Pasir Panjang; the latter three are likely non-existent because of habitat clearance (collected in late 19th and mid 20th centuries; Singapore Herbarium Online, 2012). It is the host plant for the Fivebar Swordtail (Butterflies of Singapore, 2007).
