Asplenium nidus is a common epiphyte that is frequently found on branching of large mature trees like the Albizia saman. It has a large simple leafs that spreads in a rosette, creating a bird's nest-like appearance. This catchment design enables it to capture dead leaves and debris, together with rainwater for its nutrients and water needs.
