A small herb grows to about 60cm; Hedyotis prostrata can be found in our nature reserves, such as Bukit Timah and MacRitchie. The stem is stout and angular. Sometimes, the base of the leaf, petiole and stem is purplish. The triangular stipule is diagnostic, having irregular feather-like extensions.
