Diagnostics:

Usually a shrub or small tree growing at coastal areas. Opposite leaves with very short petioles. The leaves have a cordate base, and light green on the underside. The fruits are white, purple and ripen to black.


Interesting Facts:

This plant was previously misidentified as Memecylon caeruleum, and listed as a native plant with critically endangered status.
