Diagnostics:

A common herb that grows in damp areas, commonly found growing from cracks in drains. The leaves are simple and have glossy upper surfaces and have light green or white undersides. The stems are light green and sometimes have a reddish hue. Flowers are borne on spikes which form black seeds on maturity.
