Diagnostics:

A fern that is strongly diphormic, with the fertile fronds having very narrow leaflets which are widely spaced, and the sterile fronds much shorter with leaflets wider (Johnson, 1997). Each leaflet is deeply lobed.


Interesting Facts:

The juice of tender young leaves is traditionally used as an astringent to cleanse unhealthy tongues in children, while those of the roots has been used to treat glandular swelling of the neck (Wee, 1984).
