Diagnostics:

Tree that can be found in Nee Soon Freshwater Swamp Forest, growing up to 40m with no buttresses. The leaves are compounded, either pinnate or bipinnate (seldom quadripinnate) with a terminal leaf. Each of the leaf joints are swollen. The leaflets appeared to be stalkless especially on the secondary branching. The bark is light grey.

The subspecies found in Singapore is Radermachera quadripinnata subsp. lobbii.
